Pool Time

The pool opened today!  My boys have been anxiously awaiting.  They love the water and swimming.  We will probably be here everyday this summer.  I do need to tell about Ben's near death experience... or more like being under the water for a total of 2 seconds.  Luke loves to jump in the pool to Ben and he catches him.  Well Ben was in the 5 feet (he can only touch up to the 4 1/2) and he told Luke to jump to him.  So Luke jumped to him, and weighed him down.  Ben was pushing Luke up while he was underneath.  I quickly grabbed them both and helped them to the side.  Ben was panicked and crying and told me that Luke is younger brother and hasn't lived as long so he wanted to be the one that died and save his brother.  I told him everything was alright and I was watching closely and he was only under for a few seconds.  Funny but not, I love these two.  I'm glad I saved them both.

Baby Shower

One of the wives named Corinne is having a baby girl.  There are 4 wives in the group that are preggo.  It is such a fun group and we had a great time!

A Great Addiction

Pinterest.  If you aren't a pinner you need to be.  I admit, Facebook is a big waste of time.  Sometimes I wonder why I have it, except to keep in touch with our of state family and friends.  But I stumbled upon Pinterest about 6 months ago, but didn't understand how to use it.  Then I figured out they had an app for the iPhone and then thats when the addiction started.

Remii gladly supports this addiction because I mainly use it for recipes.  And they are all delicious.  I get at least 3 new meals a week for us to try, and they are always  a hit!  I just use my app on my phone at the grocery store.  I made this easy recipe two nights ago.  Everyone loved it.  The sauce was delicious.  I had left overs and used the sauce over torilla chips and made nachos covered with cheese, olives, and sour cream.  Yum!

This is just one of the few delicious recipes I have got from Pinterest.  I also like to get ideas for new hairstyles or ways to do my hair.  I have been wanting to learn how to do a fishtail braid.  I found a tutorial on pinterest, and it is so easy.  It is great for days when I am busy or on the run to have a cute braid!

Pinterest also has a lot more to it.  It has a lot of DIY crafts and things that I wish I could pay to have someone do it for me!  So if you aren't a pinner, you need to become one!  It is a lot of fun!

Brier Creek Elementary

School started for Ben!  We got him registered on Tuesday and he was sad that he couldn't start school until Thursday.  Thats a good thing right??  The school is awesome.  It was built recently and has a huge cafeteria and gymnasium.  Ben was pretty excited not to have home lunches anymore and eat at a school cafeteria.  His teacher's name is Ms Parker.  They are going to the North Carolina zoo next Friday.  It is supposed to be a really awesome zoo and it takes over an hour to get there.  They leave at 8 and return home at 5.  Its an all day thing but Ben is so excited to go!  School ends for Ben on June 2nd.  It is a year round school so he would be off for 3 weeks and then start into the 3rd grade.  He really wants to start 3rd grade here.  I thought sure why not?  It keeps my sanity for the summer.:)

Livin' and Lovin' North Carolina!

We made it all in one piece!  We rolled in at about 1:00 am.  When we arrived we didn't have power!  But Remii's awesome boss got us a hotel until we could get power.  It was turned on the next afternoon, but we still took advantage of the nice hotel and the boys loved swimming!  Even though it is at least 80 degrees here in North Carolina, I don't think our pool will open for another week or so.  We are almost settled in.  It has been crazy trying to get Ben registered for school, unpacked, and get everything organized!

The places are so nice here. The boys bathroom is practically the size of their last bedroom that they were staying in, equipped with a walk-in closet.  We have been having so much fun exploring North Carolina and it is beautiful!  

Chicago

We split up the trip in Chicago and stopped and visited Remii's parents.  We went to the coolest science and history museum in Chicago.  They had a Mythbusters exhibit there and that was the boys favorite part.  After the museum we went to the famous Gino's pizza.  You have to get a famous deep dish pizza while in Chicago!

 

The Ultimate Road Trip

A 30 hour car ride with three boys...  sounds like a nightmare right?  Well it actually was great!   The boys were angels the whole time.  But you give them an iPad, and iPhone, 2 car DVD players, 2 nintendo DS, and they are definitely going to be entertained the whole time.  We left Utah at 7:00 PM after Remii took his last final.  Remii is the man!  He was up the night before until 5:30 am writing his last paper and busy studying for his final.  But somehow with the help of Redbull, he was ready to drive through the night.  We made it to his parents house in Chicago the next day by 6 PM.

 I had to pack all my clothes into one suitcase.  That was quite the challenge for me.  Luke on the other hand packed all of his belongings in a broken shoebox.

Im the worst road trip buddy.  Cars just put me to sleep.  I only drove 6 hours out of the 30.  And probably slept 20.  I don't know how Remii did it!

We took a stop in Omaha Nebraska.  There were some cool trains for the boys to see and some beautiful gardens to walk though.  Of course the boys found a snake and had to catch it.  Boys will be boys!
